With our first daughter Gwen, we elaborately used 2-3 safety pins on stretchy knit fabric blankets to swaddle her, and she still always got one arm out and awakened herself with random face hitting. For our second daughter Leigh, born in April 2002, this was a much simpler, cooler, more reliable swaddle, with no arm escapes! The challenge this time was washing it somehow between naps so it was always ready."
